Your new house has a pre-installed security system
Many times after you close on a new house, you’ll find that the old owners left a home security system. All the alarms and cameras work, are placed in the right areas, and are ready to go. In this example, all you may have to do is to call and establish a new contract. A Vivint professional will still come out to make sure there are no compatibility problems, and they could offer suggestions on upgrades. It's a quick trip, and you can have your 24/7 monitoring set up without paying for any new devices -- unless you add on.
The previous homeowners can give an existing Vivint contract to your family for a small transfer fee to make the transfer a snap. If the previous owners downsize to a condo or smaller home, you keeping the Vivint contract may be a condition of the sale.
You want to move and take your home security devices with you
You may need to bring your favorite Vivint system with you to your new home when you move. That’s pretty easy to accomplish, as most smart devices are wireless. You can take down each component yourself or contact a Vivint expert to take down your devices. Then our installers will hang the same devices -- and any new items you want -- in your new home. Your home security contract will stay the same.
